Small Business of the Year Award (1-10 Employees)

Over 90% of the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber membership is made up of small business. In fact, small business plays a prevalent role in shaping Waterloo Region’s economic landscape – which is why the Small Business of the Year Award category is always a highly competitive category.

This award is given to an outstanding business or organization with 1-10 full-time employees that in the past year has:

• Been in operation for a minimum of two full years
• Demonstrated innovative and proactive leadership within their business or industry
• Demonstrated measurable success as a business and/or as an employer
• Practiced good corporate citizenship
• Made exceptional contributions by promoting community betterment.

The recipient of this award must go above and beyond in both business and in being a positive contributor in the community.

In 2018, Mike the Roofer Inc. received the small business of the year award for the quality, care and commitment they show in every project they take on. They strive to support other local small businesses by recommending other contractors, so the customer can find the right fit for their project!
