Often, we assume that innovation means technological innovation. However, innovation simply means developing a product or service that didn’t exist before and covers every industry sector. As you can see from our Business Excellence Innovation Award nominees, only one of these nominees could be labeled a technology company.
Past winners include technology companies such as Igloo Software and Maplesoft, but we’ve also had many other organizations who were the leaders in innovation such as St. Mary’s Hospital, Perimeter Institute of Theoretical Physics, the University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy and the internationally recognized marketing firm Quarry Integrated Communications. This year’s winner will join a long list of outstanding organizations who elevate their industry through ground-breaking and exceptional practices.
Qualifying nominees for the Innovation Award show that their product or service has resulted in a significant increase in revenue or job creation; productivity or quality; reduction in costs; and/or improvements in service. This year’s nominees are changing the way we look at day to day activities and traditional services.
