Local cardiac services will get a needed boost from St. Mary’s RedDAY and Manulife’s donation match

Heart disease is the number one killer of Canadian women, accounting for more deaths each year than all cancers combined.  It doesn’t have to be this way.

Friday, June 7th, is RedDAY.   Join St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation and Manulife in the effort to raise awareness of heart disease and how to prevent it.

Workplaces  of Waterloo Region are invited to showcase their support for the heart health of the community and their staff. Register your RedDAY participation now at www.redday.ca

On June 7th, WEAR RED in honor of the women you love!  Share a photo with hashtag “Red Day Friday” and your best idea to improve heart health – it could make a difference for someone!   Find ideas and promotional materials to support your RedDAY celebration at www.redday.ca/toolkit

And now, there’s no better time to give! Manulife will match up to $200,000 in donations to St. Mary’s Regional Cardiac Care Centre.

Why give?  St. Mary’s Regional Cardiac Care Centre currently operates two cardiac catheterization suites for diagnostic testing and coronary artery intervention. Originally established in 2001, these suites form the essential foundation of the cardiovascular program. Now, the volume of procedures performed through catheterization at St. Mary’s has grown to what other centres accomplish with three or four suites.  Donations made in association with St. Mary’s June 7th RedDAY will help to purchase equipment for a third cardiac catheterization suite at St. Mary’s.
