The idea of the Stone Soup goes back to the folk story of a community helping those less fortunate by making a large pot of soup where each resident put in the soup what they can starting with a stone placed at the bottom of the pot.

On Saturday, February 7th you have the chance to take part in the Stone Soup Waterloo Region Benefit Concert to be held at THEMUSEUM in support of Doctors Without Borders. This event came out of two dedicated community leaders Alan Quarry and Glen Drummond from Quarry Integrated Communications as a way to stop discussing and start doing something about the Ebola Crisis in West Africa.

Enjoy a night of great food and drink from Chamber members Little Mushroom Catering, Block 3 Brewing, Innocente, and the Waterloo Brewing Company. On top of that there will be a silent auction of one-of-a-kind items and an art exhibit by Jennifer Gough and contemporary photography display as well. All proceeds from the auction will go directly towards Doctors Without Borders.

And to top off the night there will be outstanding performances by Safe As Houses, Fred Smith, Joni NehRita, and The Beggar’s Banquet.

Let’s come together as a community and help those who desperately need our generosity.
