When you think innovation you often jump immediately to technological innovation. But when it comes to the Business Excellence Awards the Innovation Award is much more than that. In fact, there is only one nominee for the 2015 Innovation Award who can be labeled a traditional technology company. Innovation is about developing a truly innovative product or service that didn’t exist before.
The winner of the Innovation Award has shown that their innovative product or service has resulted in a significant increase in revenue or job creation; productivity or quality; reduction in costs; and/or improvements in service. This year’s nominees range from tech to services and health care showing a wide range of innovation happening in Waterloo Region’s business community.

Past winners have included technology companies like Igloo Software and Maplesoft, but have also included the University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy and the internationally recognized marketing firm Quarry Integrated Communications. This year’s winner will join a long list of outstanding organizations who are helping elevate their industry through innovative and unique practices.
