Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce
Waterloo Region is home to many outstanding organizations and we’re proud to have many of them within our membership. At the Business Excellence Awards Gala, we will be awarding a ‘Business of the Year (20 Employees and Under) Award.
For a company to win this award, they must first naturally have 20 employees or less. They also have to demonstrate innovative and proactive leadership within their company and/or industry; demonstrate measureable success as a business or employer; practice good corporate citizenship; make exceptional contributions by promoting the betterment of the community.
Given that 72% of Chamber membership is made up of businesses with 20 employees or less this award is very important to us. Small businesses are the backbone of the Waterloo Region business community and deserve as much recognition as possible and this award is part of how we honour what they do for our community. Remember, even Manulife, BlackBerry, and Desire2Learn were considered small businesses at one time.
Here are our nominees this year:
It is clear that each of our nominees represents a special place in the Waterloo Region business community. Past winners include Traces Screen Printing, Tribe HR (recently acquired by NetSuite), and KW Cornerstone Paving. I hope you will be able to join us next Thursday to see which of our nominees will take home the Business of the Year Award (2o Employees and Under).
