Over the past 58 years since the University of Waterloo was founded it has had a significant impact not only on the students that have graced its campus. It also continues to have a very real impact on the Region of Waterloo and its global brand. Today, the University of Waterloo published its first Community Impact Report that touches on 8 areas of community building:
Success Involves Community Building
The University of Waterloo has influence and impact for our business community with 72% of Waterloo Region businesses reporting them have employed a UW co-op student or graduate at some point. On a broader community scale, the University of Waterloo has been integral to the Chamber’s ability to recruit and retain family doctors as a partner of the Chamber Health Care Resources Council (CHCRC) and the creation of the Health Sciences Campus in downtown Kitchener.
The University understands the importance of the local community to its success. Be sure to read the full University of Waterloo Community Impact Report today to see how UW continues to bring prosperity and growth to Waterloo Region.
