Bites of Brazil Feast: Local Chefs Support Physician Recruitment

Each year, the Greater KW Chamber of Commerce presents “The 100 Mile Feast,” an event that celebrates an evening of outstanding local food and wine pairings using local agricultural and culinary talent.

This year’s event takes place at Proof Kitchen + Lounge on Monday, October 24. Proceeds from the event help support the Chamber’s physician recruitment initiative which is critical in meeting the health care needs of our region’s rapidly growing population. The Chamber has recruited dozens and dozens of physicians to Waterloo Region in the past.

This year’s 100 Mile event features Bites of Brazil,” inspired by the recent Rio Olympics and the fabulous success of our Canadian athletes. Accordingly, several of our fabulous local culinary Olympians will prepare a scrumptious five-course feast with wine pairings.

The participating chefs and their restaurants involved are:

Jonathan Gushue, The Berlin Kitchener
Jody O’Malley and Kirstie Herbstreit of The Culinary Studio Kitchener
Ryan Murphy, Public Kitchen & Bar Kitchener
Nick Benninger, Taco Farm Co. Waterloo
Paula Ross, Community Support Connections — Meals on Wheels and More Breslau

With outstanding food grown all around our Region and in Canada, the Chamber’s 100 Mile Feast profiles these tremendous culinary talents using delicious local ingredients. There’s a silent auction of outstanding value and a live auction of great prizes with local broadcaster Mike Farwell of Country 106.7.

If you can, please support the cause and have a bite of Brazil right here in Waterloo Region!
