Now that the weather is bright and sunny and the business community starts its summer season. What few people know is that as many of us head off on vacations and very active weekdays with kids off school, Canadian Blood Services is now at a 5-year low in national inventory this summer. Moreover, the days around Statutory Holidays like Canada Day and the Civic Holiday weekend are notable times of decreased donations.

To help combat this the Chamber will be putting together a small group donation next Thursday, June 26th at 4:20pm. If you are interested in joining us for this group donation I encourage you to email me soon to reserve your spot. We only have 3 spots left in our group, so hurry if you wish to join us. There’s free cookies and juice, so it’s naturally pretty tough to say no.

Whether you can join us on June 26th or not, please remember that by donating blood you can truly save a life. In a recent survey 52% of Canadians stated that they or a family member have needed blood in the past meaning donors touch the lives of so many people day in and day out. In 20 minutes at the end of your work day you can save a life. Head on over to blood.ca for more information on donating blood and how important it is to millions of Canadians every year.

Hope you can join us next week!
