DAY 1 (May 20): Arrival via Blue Lagoon
On the way to Reykjavík you’ll stop at the Blue Lagoon for a bathe.
Overnight in Reykjavik – The Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel
DAY 2 (May 21): Skógar – Vík (B,D)
See numerous glacial rivers on route to Skógar and Skógafoss waterfall. Visit Þorvaldseyri Farm at the foot of the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Next stop Sólheimajökull Glacier and the black Reynisfjara beach.
Overnight in Vík – Icelandair Hotel
DAY 3 (May 22): Kirkjubæjarklaustur – Skaftafell – Jökulsárlón (B,D)
Cross Eldhraun, the largest mass of lava ever to flow on the face of the Earth. Onwards to Skaftafell National Park, one of Iceland’s most beautiful places. We continue to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon to see floating icebergs.
Overnight in Vík – Icelandair Hotel
DAY 4 (May 23): Westman Islands (B,D)
Thirty-minute ferry ride to the Westman Islands. Explore Heimaey, the largest island. Walk up to the crater of a volcano that erupted only a few years ago.
Overnight in Grímsnes – Grimsborgir Hotel
DAY 5 (May 24): Gullfoss – Geysir – Þingvellir – Reykjavík (B)
Head for the Geysir hot spring area to see the famous Great Geysir as well as Strokkur, a hot spring that spouts every few minutes. Onwards we travel to Gullfoss one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls.
